PAK AMBASSADOR TO SWDEN QUITS POST

STOCKHOLM, July 23—The Pakistani Ambassador to Sweden, Mr. Ikbal Athar has left his post and quietly departed from Sweden after a break with the Government of President Yahy Khan over the Bangladesh issue, diplomatic sources here said today reports AP
A spokesman for the Embassy when asked about the Ambassador’s absence said “he has left”. He added that he Pakistan Government officials are pensioned at 55”. Mr. Athar will be 55 this year.
The ambassador left a week ago and is staying in Brussels he is known to have been at odds with President Yahya Khan over the strike in East Bengal and is said to have privately expressed strong criticism of the military intervention there the diplomatic source said.
