Bhutto accuses BBC of ‘misreporting him
NEW DELHI, JULY 13.—- The People’s Party Chairman, Mr. Z. A. Bhutto. has accused the British Broadcasting Corporation of “misreporting” him writes PTI.
Apparently finding it hot on his return from an official visit to Iran, MR Bhutto told newsmen at Karachi yesterday that the BBC had misquoted him in reporting that he wanted a reconciliation within Pakistan.
The BBC quoted Mr. Bhutto, as saying in an interview with a Teheran newspaper that he favored a political settlement and wanted the Awami league to play its role.
According to Radio Pakistan, Mr. Bhutto on his return denied the BBC report and said that he had only urged for cess of adjustment. UNI adds talks with those members of the Awami League who were not involved in the secessionist movement.
Mr. Bhutto said that he had “useful” discussions with the Shah of Iran and the Iranian Foreign Minister.
For Mr. Bhutto no statement is complete without an attack on India. This time he claimed that his visit had caused “much anguish” to Indian diplomats there.
Mr. Bhutto returned to Karachi unscheduled from Teheran yesterday along with his party aides who later said he dropped Kbul from his itinerary because the new Government there was still in proqouting DPA.
