Yahya lifting ban on political activities soon?
KARACHI SEPT. 27—The ban on political activities imposed by General Yahya Khan on March 26 will be lifted at the end of next month, to clear the way for by-elections to be held in East Bengal the second week of December, says UPI.
Removal of the ban will allow the nations political parties to campaign for 7 national assembly seats declared vacant by the Government when it branded members of the Awami League guilty of secessionist activities.
According to a local agency report the seat held by the Awami League Chief, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has not been declared vacant.
