Pak papers mention split

RAWALPINDI, JAN. 10—Two newspapers backing President Bhutto asserted today what is yet to be recognized officially that West Pakistan and Bangladesh have irrevocably split, says AP.
Both newspapers held out hope for eventual links between the former parts of Pakistan.
The Government Trusts’ Pakistan Times and East Bengal had taken “the final fateful plunge the last quivering hope of east-west unity has been lost.”
The English Language New Times, which often reflects party views on Rawalpindi, said in an Editorial, “Let one frankly admit the separation of East Pakistan has become an undeniable reality.”
