পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের জনগণকে যখন মাছের সাথে তুলনা করা হয়

The constituent assembly of Pakistan:

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman: Sir, I know this that the ruling clique, the ruling junta of Pakistan, is just like a knife while the people of East Pakistan are considered to be fish; so it is question of knife and fish. People of West Pakistan are meat and the people of East Pakistan are fish. You can consider them in whatever way you like. In this context I want to repeat the words which the leaders of the Muslim League told at a meeting of their Convention at Delhi. ‘When justice fails equity fails and fair play fails in deciding the issue, shining sheet and not shining words will decide it. So do not play with the people; do not play with the fire. Straightforward come with the Bill if you want to pass it. Give us full regional autonomy with three powers in the Centre. Write down that Bengali will be one of the State languages, write down parity in all respect, write down joint electorate and come on with the Bill if you are frank in giving us these things and fulfilling your promises; we will pass it; the people of Bengal will not mind it.
