Pak concern at opening of Bangla Mission in London

LONDON AUG. 28 Pakistan’s High Commissioner in London Mr. Salman Ali, yesterday called on Mr. Joseph Godber a Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and expressed his concern at the opening of the Bangladesh High Commission here, reports Reuter.
A British Foreign Office spokesman said Mr. All called On Mr. Godber last evening and “told of his concern that an office had been opened in London which described itself as the Bangladesh High Commission. He understood that persons calling themselves High Commissioner and Deputy high Commissioner were functioning at the office”.
“Mr. Godber”, the spokesman said “assured the High Commissioner that since the British Government recognise the Government of Pakistan no mission of the kind described was acknowledged by them (Britain) as having any standing.
“The British Government deprecated the unwarranted use of titles and descriptions implying diplomatic functions of any kin. Mr. Godber asked the High Commissioner to convey his assurance to his (Pakistan) Government,” the spokesman added.
