-A.H.M Kamruzzaman, the Bangladesh Home and Rehabilitation Minister, visited the refugee camps near Calcutta and urged the inmates to go back to Bangladesh and assured them that the miscreants and collaborators who were responsible for their miseries were being rounded up and would be brought to trail. He said, ‘ You have stayed here for nine months taxing the re-sources of this great friendly nation. We have upset her economy badly. You should not stay here as evacuees but go back and take part in the national reconstruction. He assured the evacuees that they would get back their property. He further said that the dispersal of refugees would be completed by 25 March 1972.
