- Border Security Force (BSF) of India will return home from Bangladesh within next two days, a spokesperson in Kolkata says.Almost 100 BSF jawans were killed and 500 wounded during the 14-day long Indo-Pakistan war.General Sam Manekshaw says that the primary duty of India is to take the 93,000 Pakistan troops out of Bangladesh. He orders his army to keep watch on the border.
- Bangladesh government decides to form the extended probe committee to determine the impairment done by the Pakistan army and their collaborators, APB report says.
- Indian PM Indira Gandhi in a New Delhi press conference says that India wants to offer friendship to Pakistan. “We want to live in peace,” she says. Bangladesh government will decide of making tribunal for war crimes, Gandhi added.
