- Muktibahini advance towards Tengratila, a huge Pakistan base, led by Capt Mohsin and Capt Akbar of 3rd Bengal regiment.
- Daukee sub-Sector troops and 3rd Bengal regiment led by Major Shafayat Jamil jointly attack Radhanagar. Fierce battle takes place for few hours.
- After a severe bloody conflict, Pakistan troops eventually leave Kamalpur outpost near Jessore frontier.
- Chief of Pakistan Eastern Command General Niazi in Dhaka tells foreign reporters that the Indo-Pakistan war is underway. Muktibahini and Indian army are miserably failing in the war field.
- Muktibahini take captive six Pakistan police and Razakars from Kalir Bazar in Gaibandha. They seize nine rifles and 400 rounds of ammunition. A Muktibahini member martyred.
- Muktibahini attack Mogolpur Razakar base in Kurigram. They take hold of five rifles and 200 rounds of ammunition.
- The commander in chief of Muktibahini Colonel MAG Osmani from Mujibnagar says: “My boys are absolutely ready now. Within a few months they have become equivalent to fight any professional army of the world. No more delay, it is time to strike.”
- Muktibahini defend a Pakistan attack on Borokhali freedom fighters’ camp in Jessore. Freedom fighters destroy a bridge and immobilise Pakistan army. 12 Pakistan troops are killed. Two freedom fighters are martyred.
