- Administration imposes a curfew in Dhaka city from 8:30pm to 5:30am. Four freedom fighters are killed in different parts of the city during conflicts with the army. A few hundred youth, alleged freedom fighters, are arrested by the military on the night.
- Muktibahini and Pakistan army confront at many fronts in Comilla, Khulna and Barisal.
- PPP chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto says in Karachi that people of Pakistan will not accept any puppet government. If it is formed, a revolution will be inevitable.
- Mia Mamtaj Doulatana warns those who “ruined the national unity” that seven pro-Pakistani political parties are united to fight these “traitors” till the last breath.
- General Niazi goes to visit Lalmonirhat. He meets army officials, Razakars, Mujahids and civil force members. He discusses strategies with them. They promise their top leader to continue fighting against the “traitors”.
- Pakistani leader Mahmud Ali congratulates Chinese representatives during the UN General Assembly, saying that China’s affiliation to the UN will help the organisation to achieve its “goals”.
