- Muktibahini attack Razakar and Pakistan militia settlement in Rajshashi’s Bagdani. The camp is completely destroyed and five Razakars killed.
- Muktibahini fighters of sector 8 attack Pakistan militia in Ratanpur killing two and capturing one Razakar.
- Guerilla forces blast bombs south of Dhaka’s governor building and near Motijheel Central Government Girls School’s headmistress’ house.
- Muktibahini shell Pakistan militia in Chittagong, Comilla, Rangpur and Jessore frontiers. Pakistan complains to India alleging that it is the deed of Indian military. India rejects the claim.
- Mohammad Kavtiar is killed when guerillas attack the residence of by-polls participant Mohammad Bakhtiar’s Chittagong residence.
- People’s Party Chairman ZA Bhutto heads for Geneva after meeting Egyptian President Anwar Sadat in Cairo. Bhutto is acting as a special envoy of Pakistan.
- A Lebanese media report cites Begum Akhtar Solaiman to state that 7.5 crore people in East Pakistan is against the liberation forces. They are all helping Pakistan military. Sheikh Mujib lost popularity because he did not keep his word.
- Islami Chhatra Sangha Cox’s Bazar town unit is formed with Mahiuddin as its president and Aliullah general secretary.
