- Muktibahini’s tenth Bengal regiment of sector 2 along with artillery unit attack Pakistani militia settlements in Nilakshi base. The camp is occupied by freedom fighters.
- Muktibahini ambush group hit a Pakistani bunker with LMGs killing one soldier in sector 1.
- Muktibahini fighters attack a strong Pakistan military base in Dhalai of Sylhet. Sipahi Hamidur Rahman embraces martyrdom. Several Pakistani militia members are injured.
- B company of Z force use artillery to attack Pakistan militia settlement in Patrakhola tea factory. Pakistan military is defeated and the camp is occupied.
- 3 Pakistan soldiers are killed attacked by Muktibahini ambush team in Baira sub-sector of sector 8 in Fatehpur.
- 50 elected uncontested in the by-polls of national council in East Pakistan. Among those elected uncontested are Jamaat chief Ghulam Azam, provincial council Muslim League chief Khaza Khairuddin, Qayyum Muslim League General Secretary Khan A Sabur, Jamaat provincial assistant chief Abbas Ali Khan and AKM Yousuf.
- A military spokesperson in Dhaka says Razakars are facing off Indian spies everywhere in the province. The countrymen are proud of their achievements including protection of railways and roadways.
- A member of UN General Assembly AT Sadi tells Pakistani students in Houston that the government formulated election for democracy. But, India is plotting to cancel the by-polls by firing on the borders and infiltrating their spies into the country.
