- Five Pakistan militia men are killed when they engage Muktibahini fighters during looting and arson in Birunia village in Bhaluka.
- A team of freedom fighters attack Pakistan military led by Subedar Golam Ambia in Kamalpur, under sector 2, killing three militia members.
- Pakistan military shell Muktibahini settlements in Sadipur under Bongaon sub-sector in sector 8. Two Pakistan militia members are killed and 50 others injured. One freedom fighter embraces martyrdom.
- A team of freedom fighters attack Berni camp of Pakistani soldiers in Baira sub-sector under sector 8. One Razakar surrenders.
- Bangladesh force headquarters’ war bulletin says Muktibahini fighters blew up a Pakistan truck, killing six militia men, with mines on the Daudkandi road in Comilla.
- Indian Foreign Minister Sardar Sharan Singh, speaking on the UN day, hopes an end to the problems of Bangali refugees and bid their safe return to Bangladesh with honour.
- Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi reached Brussels to begin her week-long visit to Belgium, Austria, Britain, UK, France and West Germany.
- Pakistan representative in the UN Shah Azizur Rahman says the Bangladesh dream is now fading.
- People’s Party Chairman ZA Bhutto reaches Cairo to begin his middle-east visit as a special envoy of Pakistan President Yahya.
