- Ninth Bengal regiment fighters attack Pakistan military settlement in Kosba of Comilla. Twenty-six Pakistan soldiers are killed and 18 others injured in the 3-hour long fight. Grenades, guns, mines and other ammunitions are seized.
- Muktibahini fighters ambush a Pakistan military boat in Dhaka’s Tejgaon. Five soldiers are killed and six others are injured. The boat is destroyed.
- A team of freedom fighters led by Immuzaman in sector 2 attack Pakistan military in Harisardar bazar killing 35 military men.
- A unit of Pakistan military and Razakars attack Muktibahini settlement in Naikali under sectory 8. Three Pakistan soldiers are killed and 15 Razakars injured.
- Pakistan People’s Party Chairman ZA Bhutto says the people want the power be handed over to PPP. He says his party is now the largest in Pakistan and the national council after Awami League was banned.
- East Pakistan Agriculture Minister Nawajesh Ahmed tells a Magura rally that the prevailing situation is to be blamed for lack of understanding of the ideology of Pakistan.
- East Pakistan Health Minister Obaidullah Majumder tells a rally at Rangunia that a quarter of the Awami League leaders committed treachery with the people. They are hurting the ideology of Pakistan with ‘Bangladesh’ slogan.
