  • Pakistan President Yahya and Soviet President Nikolai Podgorny hold a two-hour long meeting in Tehran. President Yahya demands that Soviet take necessary steps for the unity and solidarity of Pakistan.
  • Navy commanders, led by Alam, launch a courageous drive in Chalna port and destroy four ships including Lighting and Al-Murtaza.
  • 17 Pakistan military soldiers are killed hit by mortar shells fired from Muktibahini fighters in Dinajpur’s Boalganj.
  • Anti-liberation forces torch Justice Abu Sayeed’s Dhaka residence on Mymensingh road.
  • East Pakistan Jamaat-e-Islami chief Ghulam Azam tells a Dhaka rally that the people needed to wake up from dreams that India would free East Pakistan.
  • President Yahya and his Yugoslavia counterpart Marshal Tito sit for talks in Tehran.
  • UN Assistant General Secretary Palmark Henry tells a press conference that though the guerilla forces could not stand against the Pakistan military, they are obstructing the relief work.
  • Mahmud Ali, who came back on an emergency call from Nurul Amin, tells APP that Pakistan is cordial in bringing back its nationals and took steps in this regard, but India is toying with the matter.
