- Indian Foreign Minister Sardar Sharan Singh says in New Delhi that the international opinion is in favour of Bangladesh. Foreign aid for refugees would not provide salvation for the political crisis of Bangladesh. Bangladesh government’s political solution would mean an acceptable solution to the government.
- Muktibahini led a drive against Pakistan military in Sylhet’s Kulaura. Five Pakistani troopers are killed. Later, 2 Razakars surrendered with arms.
- Muktibahini attack a platoon of Pakistani military in Baira sub-sector of sector 8. Four killed and two Razakars captured.
- Freedom fighters launch fierce attacks on a Pakistan military camp in sector 8 under Gojadanga sub-sector. 30 Pakistani military men are killed and 20 injured. One freedom fighter embraces martyrdom.
- Kaderia Bahini demolished two bridges in Tangail’s Charabari and Porabari.
- Muktibahini launch a courageous drive on a Pakistan military’s gunboat on the Yamuna river. The gunboat is completely destroyed.
- A delegation of the Pakistan People’s Party, led by Mia Mahmud Ali, arrived in Dhaka and told reporters that he is here to boost the ties between people of East and West Pakistan. Bhutto sent his message through this delegation. Bhutto says a new dimension is awaiting for the nation. Conspirators India is killing Pakistanis with Pakistanis. He says India is making use of a quarter and added that they should be stopped under united efforts.
- Anti-liberation forces organise a rally in Sylhet’s Chatak Bazar. Sylhet district Peace Committee convener and Muslim League leader Shahid Ali says the nation is facing a difficult test. He says every patriot would have to stand united to save the nation. The peace committee and Razakars would have to shoulder the responsibility of establishing peace in all areas.
