- Freedom fighters kill six Pakistan soldiers and detain a driver after ambushing at jeep of C Company of 29 Beluch Regiment at Nankara area, four mile away off Chouddogram. The fighters also seize huge firearms and explosives of Pakistan soldiers.
- Military Court no-1 in Dhaka summons actress Kabari Chowdhury, singer Abdul Jabbar, student leader and freedom fighter Mahasin Mantu, Kamrul Anam Khan Khasru and Abdul Gani on August 16. Otherwise, trial will be held in absentia, the court decides.
- The court also summons 13 youths who took part in the freedom fight. The youths are – Mohammad Idris (Chandpur), Abdul Wahab (daudkandi), Abdur Rhaman (Begumganj), Bhulu (Senbagh), Mujibur rahman (Debidwar), Kalugaji, Shafi, Kafi, Sadi, Mannan, Barek, Khaleq and Sharafat (rest of all are residents of Raipura, Dhaka). If they do not appear before the court, the trial would be held in their absence, the court decided.
- Anti-liberation forces hold a rally at Sylhet register ground presided over by Dr Abdul Majid.
