  • Bangladesh Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmed in a meeting with National and Regional Parishad members, says, “The initiatives taken by the Bangladesh government is mainly aiming to rescue the country. The day is not so far that our loving motherland will be freed from enemy.”
  • Five Rajakars are killed as the freedom fighters led by Nayeb Subedar Mabachharul attack Mirganj Rajakar camp. The telecommunication between Mirganj and Charghat is suspended following the attack.
  • Freedom fighters attack a patrol team of Pakistani military near Mabashail Police Station in Patharghata. Four Pakistan soldiers killed and another wounded. Freedom fighters seize huge arms and ammunition.
  • Jamaat-e-Islami acting ameer Mia Mohammad Tofayel in a press briefing in Karachi says, “The member of Awami League who took part in trouble would have to cancel their posts and it would be filled up by the party men who got second highest vote in the elections held last year.
  • Pakistani military ruler imposes section 157, 158 and 159 in Dhaka which gave authority to Rajakars to arrest anybody.
