- Freedom fighters led by Captain Gaffar ambush the Mandabhag and Nakterbazar camps killing 12 Pakistani soldiers and destroying their bankers around 6:00pm.
- Two teams of freedom fighters led by 2-No sector captain Zafar Imam attack Dattasardighi and Amtal camps at 10:00pm, killing some Pakistani army and injuring 15 others.
- 21 Pakistani soldiers are killed when a Muktibahini team ambushes a patrolling speedboat in Gomti river near Daudkandi. The freedom fighters also recovered huge arms.
- Freedom fighters along with Indian soldiers attack Darshana camp of Pakistani army, killing 12/15 Pakistan soldiers.
- Freedom fighters led by Lance Nayek Mannan ambush a patrolling team of Pakistan army and recover huge arms including 43 rifles.
- Freedom fighters destroy Swarisadi Bridge of Feni-Gunbati railway track suspending the communication among the Pakistan soldiers.
- Major Mainul takes charge of commanding officers of Captain Hafiz Ahmed-led battalion.
- People’s Party chairmen Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, at a press briefing in Karachi, says the separatist movement comes into the view when Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was talking to divide the Jatiya Parishad. For this Awami League has been declared illegal and Sheikh Mujib arrested, he says.
- A new peace committee formed with Convention Muslim League leader Fakruddin Ahmed and AIB Reja as convener and secretary respectively of Mymensingh Natun Bazar unit.
- British foreign minister Sir Alek Hume tells parliament that Pakistan and India embassy failed to measure the number of deaths in Pakistani attack.
