June 18, 1971
- Freedom fighters led by Lt Humayun ambush the Pakistan Army base at Saysabad (canon base) on the Comilla- Brahmanbaria Road. After several hours of conflict, Pakistan Army strengthened their counter attack with the aid of three fighter jets. Freedom fighters approached towards meghna River through a hidden route in the village after the assault. 50/60 Pakistan soldiers are killed in this operation.
- Pakistan soldiers attack the Muktibahini base at Koikhola in Comilla with the help of their artillery division. Koikhola went to their possession in this battle. At night, 4th Bengal ‘A’ Company led by Major Salek Chowdhury attack on the Pakistan forces at Koikhola. Besides that, Habildar Salaam’s platoon from Shibpur and Subeder Abdur Haque Bhuiyan’s Platoon from the south infiltrated the enemy base. After two hours of fierce battle Pakistan forces are forced to leave Koikhola completely and the Muktibahini took hold of Koikhola base again. 31 Pakistan soldiers including a JCO are killed in this battle. Freedom fighters took possession of ample weapons and war materials.
