- In the US Senate, Democrat Senator Frank Church and republican Senator William Saxby propose a bilateral amendment to discontinue US financial and military support to Pakistan. The proposal states that: The refugees from East Bengal not only put on a burden on India, but also created a situation of unrest in the region. We think that, US should send International aid there to lessen the sufferings of the refugees and also take initiatives to enable them return to their lands.
- US Government grants an aid of 15 Million Dollars in excess for the refugees from Bangladesh in India.
