- Pakistan army attack base of freedom fighters in Kirtipasha, Jahalakathi. Following the attack, Siraj Sikder divides his team and forms separate camps in Madra, Shotodol Kathi, Ata, and Vimruli villages.
- In the US Senate, Senator Edward Kennedy urges United Nations to take necessary steps regarding Bangladesh crisis. He also urges the US government to respond to the Indian government’s appeal for aid for the refugees from Bangladesh.
