Mujib addresses workers Fight peacefully through ballot
By A Staff Correspondent
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman urged the people on Friday to continue their democratic movement in a peaceful manner. He said the war for realisation of the people’s demands would be fought on two fronts-through mass movement and through ballots.
The Six-Point Awami League chief was addressing a vast public meeting at Adamjeenagar, some 10 miles from Dacca. The meeting was attended by the workers of the Adamjeenagar and the adjoining industrial belt and the people from the surrounding towns and villages.
While emphasizing that the democratic struggle of the people would continue he said that peace and discipline had also to be maintained. He cautioned the people against a big game being played against the interest of the people. He said there were attempts by the interested quarters to provoke Hindu-Muslim and Bengalee-non-Bengalee riots. He said these were being attempted with a view to frustrating the present democratic movement of the people.
