Work vigorously to maintain peace : Mujib
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman the Awami League leader, on Wednesday called upon all democratic forces to work vigorously for the maintenance of peace and protection of the rights of the people, reports APP.
He expressed his “unqualified condemnation” for the situation treated by the administration of what he called abdication of its responsibility to protect the rights of the citizens.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a statement issued to the Press on Wednesday said.
“I cannot but express my unqualified condemnation for the situation which has been created by the total abdication of the administration of its responsibility for protecting the rights of ordinary citizens.
There seems to be an unholy conspiracy which is instigating anti-social and anti people elements daily to violate the life, person and property of ordinary citizens for the ulterior purpose of diverting the course of our struggle.
“No greater disservice can be done to the people’s cause and the caue of democracy than to tolerate such activities.
“I appeal to all those who believe in the people’s cause to the cause of democracy than to defeat the nefarious edsigns of interested quarters and to resist these anti-social elements. I call upon all democratic forces including students, workers, peasants and my party members, vigorously to … for the maintenance of…and protection of the rights of citizens”.
