Mujib demands Monem’s removal

The Awami League chief, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, last night demanded the removal of East Pakistan Governor, Mr. Abdul Monem Khan, from his office immediately, reports PPI.
Talking to newsmen at his Dhanmondi residence immediately after his arrival from Lahore, the Awami League chief said that it was most unfortunate that Mr. Abdul Monem Khan was still the Governor of East Pakistan.
“The man (Monem Khan) is so repulsive”, Sheikh Mujib remarked.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman said that it was not proper to criticise anyone but he could not forget when he (Sheikh Mujib) remembered the oppression and mass killings in the province during the tenure of Mr. Monem Khan.
The Awami League chief also demanded immediate institution of a high-powered judicial body to enquire into brutal murder of Dr. Shamsuzzoha and a large number of people during mass language.
