LAHORE, March 7: Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, Convener of the Central Democratic Action Committee, said here this evening that the central executive of the DAC will be able to reach a consensus by tomorrow evening.

Later, at the resumed session after the dinner-break, the central DAC appointed a nine-member sub-committee to thrash out constitutional problems and make its recommendations for consideration by the plenary meeting of the DAC tomorrow evening.

The meeting of the Central DAC would be resumed at 7 p.m. at the residence of Chaudhry Mohammad Ali.
Today’s sessions were attended by all the 16 members of the DAC and Air Marshal Asghar Khan. Presidents of the two regional DACS were also present.
Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan discounted the rumours that dead- lock had arisen due to divergent views expressed by leaders of some of the component parties of the DAC.
Earlier, according to observers, it seemed after the morning session that the DAC was faced with a lack of general consensus.
Mr. Abdus Salam Khan President of the East Pakistan Democratic Movement and a member of the DAC also said he was hopeful that a solution of the outstanding problems would emerge with consensus at the DAC meeting.
Talking to APP after this mornings DAC meeting Mr. Abdus Salam Khan said questions relating to One Unit, representation on population basis and full regional autonomy should be thrashed out with vision and logic and in a statesman like manner in the best interest of the country as a whole.
Replying a question he said “Nothing to worry. So many leaders of various parties and responsible independent leaders have got together. A solution will come out.”
SABUR’S VIEW
Meanwhile, Mr. Sabur Khan, Central Communications Minister and Leader of the House in the National Assembly, said that amendments to the Constitution to be suggested by the round-table conference could be passed by the National Assembly only if these were in the benefit of East as well as West Pakistan.

He said that next NA session would be held sometime in April. However, he added that if circumstances required that the session should be summoned earlier, the President might do so.
