Mujib for unanimous decision at DAC meet

Awami League leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman said in Dacca on Thursday that he was trying to adopt unanimous decisions at the Central Democratic Action Committee meeting in Lahore beginning Friday, to be placed before the Round Table Conference.
Talking to newsmen at the airport on the eye of his departure for Lahore Sheikh Mujib said that he had been continuing his efforts to have the leaders of the political parties and individual leaders as the Round Table Conference. He said that they should sit at the RTC and place the demands on behalf of the people. He added, “so far my idea goes there is no definite agenda for the RTC. So every political parties could place their viewpoints particularly the constitutional problems they deem fit to discuss at the conference table.”
When asked by a correspondent, Sheikh Mujib said that he would place before the DAC the demands of regional autonomy for East Pakistan on the basis of Six-Point programme and the demands of West Pakistan, particularly the burning One Unit problem.
Replying to a question, the Awami League leader said while placing the Awami League demands before the DAC meeting he would be guided by the resolutions of the Working Committee of his party adopted on Wednesday night.
Asked if he had any message for the people of East Pakistan before his departure for attending the RTC, he said “I love them, they love me and I will work for them.”
PPI adds: The Awami League chief Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other opposition leaders from East Pakistan Thursday afternoon left for Lahore attend the meeting of the Central Democratic Action Committee (DAC) there.
The leaders are Syed Nazrul Islam (AL), Captain Mansur Ali (AL), Kh. Mushtaque Ahmed (AL), Mr. A. H. M. Kamruzzaman (AL), Mr. Tajuddin (AL), Sk. Abdul Aziz (AL), Mollah Jalaluddin (AL), Mr. Mostafa Sarwar (AL), Mr. Abdus Salam Khan (pro-PDM AL), Mr. A. Q. M. Shafiqul Islam (CML), Syed Abdus Sultan (CML), Alhaj Abdus Salam (CML), Mr. Md. Ataul Huq (CML), Mr. Ataul Huq Khan (CML), and Professor Osman Ramz (Jamaat-e-Islami).
Besides, the Council Muslim League leader Mr. Z. H. Lan who flew Dacca on Wednesday to consult his party workers also left by the same plane.
Barrister Maudood Ahmed accompanied the Awami League chief Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
