Sk. Mujib demands 2nd wage board for journalists
The Awami League Chief Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Thursday supported the reasonable demands of the working journalists of the country, reports PPI.
In a statement at Tejgaon Airport prior to his departure for Lahore Thursday afternoon, the Awami League Chief demanded the immediate setting up of the Second Wage Board for the journalists.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman demanded the repeal of the Press and Publications Ordinance and other restrictive laws and ordinances which could affect the freedom of Press.
He also demanded the dissolution of the National Press Trust and restoration of all papers to the original owners including the Progressive Papers Limited While doing this, he said, the interest of the working journalists must be ensured.
The Awami League Chief said that individual ownership should not be allowed in the case of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) after disinvesting it from Government control.
