Warm welcome to Mujib at Lahore

LAHORE, March 6 (APP): Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Awami League chief, arrived here this afternoon from Dacca.
He was given a warm welcome at the Lahore airport, Mr Kamar-uz-Zaman, Mr. Nazrul Islam, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Khondkar and Mr. Shafiq-ul-Islam also arrived by the same plane.
Prominent among those who had gone to welcome him were Sardar Shaukat Hayat, Air Marshal Asghar Khan and Gen Azam Khan.
When the Sheikh appeared on the gangway people rushed up to the plane to garland him amidst the slogans of “Sheikh Majibur Rahman Zindabad”, “Pakistan Zindabad”, and “unity of the political parties Zindabad”.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman refused to come down the gangway unless it was cleared. He however came down the crowded gangway. Later he was taken to the main building in a jeep.
While he was being taken to the main building slogans in favour of retention of One Unit were also raised by a group of persons. Some slogans against One Unit were also raised by another group.
