Mujib speaks to Asghar, Murshed on telephone : Leaves for Lahore today

DACCA, Feb 23: The Awami League leader, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had telephonic talks with Air Marshal Asghar Khan, Begum Asghar Khan, Sardar Shaukat Hayat Khan, Justice S. M. Murshed and Malik Gholam Jilani this morning.
According to a tentative programme, the Sheikh will stay for a while at the residence of Malik Gholam Jilani after his arrival in Lahore tomorrow noon from where he is expected to proceed to Rawalpindi the same day.
Among a large number of people who visited the Awami League leader’s house this morning were a veteran Leftist leader, Mr. Moni Singh, who was also released yesterday, Kazi Abdul Kader, A Convention League leader, and Mr. Ataur Rahman Khan, A former chief minister of the province. -APP.

CARRYING MANDATE
PPI adds: Sheikh Mujib will leave for Lahore tomorrow morning en route to Rawalpindi. He will be accompanied by seven members of his party. They are Mr. Tajuddin, General Secretary, Mr. Mizanur Rahman, Organising Secretary, Abdul Malik Ukil. Abdul Mannan, Zahoor Ahmed Choudhury, M. A. Aziz and Mr. Maizuddin.
Sheikh Mujib said he would stay a couple of hours in Lahore to confer with Gen. Azam, Justice Murshed and Air Marshai Asghar Khan before he leaves for Pindi.
He said that he would then go to Pindi for the Round Table Conference and place his viewpoint. He said that he was taking the mandate of the people with him and carrying their demands.
A Lahore message adds: Sheikh Mujib will have important political parleys with the three independent leaders already in Lahore-Air Marshal Asghar Khan, LT. Gen Azam Khan and Mr. Justice Murshed, before proceeding to the interim capital. Chairman Bhutto of the PPP is expected to join the talks in Lahore.
