Mujib’s appeal : Maintain peace, tranquility

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Chief of the East Pakistan Awami League appealed to the people on Sunday night to maintain peace and tranquility and remain peaceful under all circumstances, reports PPI.
In a Press statement in Dacca on Sunday night be also warned the Government not to incite or provoke the people any more.
Sheikh Saheb in his statement said, he was grieved to know that tragedy occurred near Dacca Club on Sunday evening. He said that a million people have pledged in the historic meeting at Race Course on Sunday evening that they would never allow to divert the aim of their movement and let the sacrifices made by people go in vain.
He made a fervent appeal to the people to honour the pledges. He said that we must maintain at all cost peace and tranquility so that the rays of hope of better days which are within the sight due to ceaseless struggle may not be lost. As such, we must maintain discipline in the face of provocation and incitement.
Finally, Sheikh Saheb sympathised with those who were injured in the incident.
Later Sheikh Saheb visited the hospital where the injured persons have been admitted. He talked with them and found them being looked after well.
