Asghar Khan seeks permission to see Mujib
Former Air Force Chief Air Marshal Asghar Khan has sought permission from authorities concerned to meet Awami League Chief Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports PPI.
This was stated by the Air Marshal, currently on an elevenday tour of East Pakistan, at an iftar party, arranged at Sheikh sahib’s Dhanmondi residence in Dacca on Thursday evening.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is now in military custody as accused No. 1 in the case State vs. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Others.
Tour Programme
Air Marshal Asghar Khan will leave Dacca on Saturday morning for Sylhet by air to address. The members of the Bar there.
He will return to Dacca the following day and will address a meeting of the political workers in Dacca the same afternoon.
He will leave for Khulna on December 16 and address the members of the Bar there. He will then proceed to Barisal on December 17 and after addressing the members of the Bar there, will return to Dacca the following day.
Marshal Asghar will leave Dacca for Chittagong by train on December 18 and return to Dacca the following day in the night after addressing a gathering there.
During his tour the Air Marshal will be accompanied by Mr. Justice S. M. Murshed and Mr. Mahmud Ali, MNA, to Sylhet and Khulna and by Mr. Mahmud Ali, MNA and Mr. Farid Ahmed to Chittagong.
Air Marshal Asghar Khan is expected to leave Dacca for West Pakistan on December 20.
