Six Points redundant, says Bhutto
DACCA. April 2: Mr Bhutto, Chairman of the Pakistan people’s party and a former Foreign Minister of Pakistan, yesterday described as “redundant” most of the demands incorporated in the Six Points programme of the East Pakistan Awami League.
Addressing a large gathering of students at the institute of Engineers here. Mr Bhutto said that he supported only one demand of the six points, that is the creation of a genuine federation in Pakistan.
He said he could not agree on the six-point demand that the Central government should be left with only two subjects, namely defence and foreign affairs.
This arguments, he maintained “sounds dogmatic and dictatorial” stating that this could not be pre-conditioned. He said the Centre must have the competence to deal with emargencies and for that a strong Centre was needed.
He Further said that the matter would be decided by the people of Pakistan alone through democratic process. -PPI.
