Sheikh Mujib’s Birthday Celebrated
The 48th birth anniversary of the detained Awami League chief, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was celebrated in Dacca and Chittagong yesterday under the auspices of Awami League, reports PPI.
On this occasion, Milad-Mahfils were held and special prayers were offered for sound health and long life of the party leader.
In Dacca, a Milad-Mahfil was arranged by the City Awami League at the provincial Awami League headquarters yesterday afternoon.
A large number of Awami League leaders, workers, and members of the public, including Mr. Nurul Islam MNA and Mr.Mujibur Rahman (Rajshahi), Secretary of pro-PDM. Awami League, were present at the Milad Mahfil. Special prayers were offered at some of the city mosques.
Meanwhile, a telephone message from Chittagong says:Sheikh Mujib’s birthday was celebrated there under the auspices of Chittagong City and District Awami League Committtees.
