Mujib’s birthday on Sunday

The Dacca City Awami League (six point group) has decided to observe the 48th birthday of the provincial organisation chief Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Sunday, a party Press release said last night.
The meeting which was attended by presidents and secretaries of the different union committees of the city branch of the party was presided over by Hafez Mohammad Musa. The meeting reiterated its faith in the “leadership of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman” and also its faith “in the six-point programme.” It decided to continue “the constitutional and peaceful movement for the realisation of the six – point programme”.
The meeting expressed its sorrow over the death of advocate M.A.Rab, “a prominent Awami Leaguer.”
The city branch has directed its units who have yet to hold the biennial elections to complete them by March 20 positively.
The meeting also adopted resolutions on what it called rising price of rice, and demanding release of political prisoners.
