Copy of the Emergent Meeting of the ‘Rangpur Mukhtars Bar Association held on 26.2.52
1. Resolved unanimously that the Association urges upon the acceptance of Bengali as one of the State Language of Pakistan.
2. Resolved unanimously that the Association recent the dastardly murder of the students and the unwarranted firing at Dacca resulting in death and injuries of a large number of innocent people.
3. Resolved unanimously, that the meeting urges upon the Government to set up a non-official enquiry Commission at once to find out the persons responsible for the dastardly actions and to try them in open Court.
4. Resolved that for the ends of a fair inquiry the District Magistrate, S.P., and Executive heads of Dacca be immediately transferred to some other stations.
5. Resolved unanimously that the Government be called upon the give adequate compensation to the families of the person killed at Dacca in the recent Police firing.
6. Resolved unanimously that the meeting condemns the apathy of the M.L. As present at Dacca in the close neighbourhood of the place of firing and who did not judge an inch to protect so many precious lives. By their conduct these M.L.As have forfeited the confidence of the people and they are called upon to resign at once.
