Barisal District Board Meeting

Before the business of the meeting was taken up there was an informal discussion among the members present about the recent Police firing in Dacca city and the drafting of a resolution, and then the following resolution as agreed to was formerly put from the chair and carried on.
Resolution :
This meeting of the Bakerganj District Board condemns the actions of the authorities responsible for the recent firing in Dacca city and express its deepest sorrow at the sad deaths of and injuries to some students and members of the public and conveys its heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families, and demands the immediate setting up of a high power inquiry committee with a High court Judge as chairman for finding out and inflict punishment on the really guilty persons and also urges upon the Government for awarding suitable compensation to the families affected, and at the same time earnestly appeals to the people to see that peace and tranquillity is maintained at all costs in the greater interests of Pakistan and its citizens.
