Soviet’s appeal
In Moscow, the Sovist Union has called for an end to blodshed in East Pakistan and recourse to methods of a peaceful political settlement.
President Nikolai Padgorny told President Yahya Khan in a message Saturday that extreme measures being used against the Last Pakistan population had been met with “great alarm” in the Soviet Union.
The message said: “The Soviet People cannot but be concerned by the numerous casualties by the sufferings and privations that such a development of events brings to the people of Pakistan.”
