Proceedings of the Emergent Meeting of the Dacca University Teacher’s Association held in the Teacher’s Common Room, University Buildings, on the 24th February, 1952 at 9 P.M.

Members of the Association
The Following resolutions were passed unanimously:
1. That this meeting requests the Government of Pakistani to declare immediately that Bengali is accepted as one of the State languages of Pakistan.
2. That this meeting requests the University of Dacca to take steps to introduce Bengali as a medium of instruction as far as practicable.
3. That this meeting of the Association condemns the outrageous murders and assaults of the students on the 21st of February and subsequent days by the Police and the military and condemns the violation of the sanctity of University premises and requests the Executive Council to close the University as a protest for one day.
4. That this meeting records the protest against the entry of the l’olice into the University premises and the tear-gassing of and oissault on students and members of the staff of the University.
5. That this meeting demands that a judicial Enquiry (‘ommittee presided over by a High Court Judge be constituted immediately to enquire into the happenings of the 21st February and subsequent days.
6. That this meeting demands immediate suspension of officers who were responsible for the happenings of the 21st and subsequent days.
7. That this meeting demands immediate withdrawal of Sec. 144 from the city.
8. That this meeting demands immediate withdrawal of Police pickets and the military from the city and to banning of the entry of the Police and the military into the premises of educational institutions without the previous written permission of the Heads of the institutions.
9. That this meeting demands the removal of all restrictions on press immediately.
10. That this meeting demands that adequate compensation be given to the families of the killed and to the injured.
11. That the meeting demands that the arrested persons be immediately and unconditionally released and pending their release facilities be given to the authorities of educational institutions, friends and relations of arrested persons to visit them in Jails.
12. That copies of these resolutions be sent to the Government, the Vice-Chancellor and the press.
