Narayanganj AL demands Mujib’s release

NARAYANGANJ, Dec. 3: A meeting of the Narayanganj City Awami League was held here on November 26 at 83, B. K. Road, reviewed the political and discussed the organisation matters.
Presided over by Mr. T. Hossain, Acting President of the City Awami League, the meeting by a resolution demanded the release of political detenus including party’s chief Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Mr. Tajuddin Ahmed and Khondaker Mustaque Ahmed, restoration of democracy and adult franchise in the country, scrapping of One Unit in West Pakistan and food grains at a lower price. )
The meeting through another resolution criticised the local Municipal authority for increasing the tax and urged for immediate re-assessment of all holdings.
The meeting also chalked out an elaborate programme to celebrate here the fourth death anniversary of late Hussain Shahid Suhrawardy in a befitting manner.
The highlights of the celebration included probhat ferry, milad mahfil, Quran Khwani, Symposium on the life and teachings of Suhrawardy and distribution of alms to poor.
