Mujib’s conviction upheld
DACCA, Nov. 8: The conviction of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by a Magistrate, for making prejudicial speech, was upheld here yesterday by the Additional Session Judge, Mr. Kaiser Ali.
The court, however, reduced the term of imprisontment from 15-months to eight, while passing judgment on Sheikh Mujib’s appeal against his conviction by the Magistrate.
The Awami League leader, who is now under detention in the Dacca Jail, was tried for making a prejudicial public speech early last year at the Paltan Maidan.
