Sk. Mujib’s Release Demanded
LAHORE, May 18 (APP): The working Committee of the Lahore City Muslim League (Council) on Monday Demanded immediate release of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, President of the East Pakistan Awami League and the author of the Six-Point Programme.
The demand was made at a meeting of the Committee held here with Ch. Inayatullah in the Chair.
The Committee observed that the detention of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under the Defence of Pakistan Rules (DPR) was against all principles of justice and as such, it condemned the action of the East Pakistan Government in detaining him without any trial.
The Committee, in another resolution, also demanded the lifting of emergency from the country and immediate release of all political detenus.
