Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, President of the East Pakistan Awami League who is now detained in the Dacca Central Jail under DPR has been transferred to the Jail Hospital “for medical check-up”, PPA. Learn here last night from a source close to the jail. The source further said that “his health is perfectly well”.
Meanwhile, a press release of the East Pakistan Awami League Ist night said that Mr. Mujib “is reported to be seriously ill”. It further said that he was lying in the jail hospital.
Another Press release of the party alleged quoting “reliable source” that five detained Awami League leaders had been shifted to unknown places.
The leaders, according to the press release are-Mr. Tajudding Ahmed, General Secretary of the East Pakistan Awami League; Mr. Nurul Islam Choudhury, Treasurer of the party Mr. Zahur Ahmed Choudhury Labour Secretary of the Party, Mr. Mujibur Rahman, Vice-President of the Party and Kh. Mushtaq Ahmed.
