MUJIB EXPLAINS SIX-POINT PLAN

RAJSHAHI, April 12: Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, President of the East Pakistan Awami League, said here yesterday that his party’s struggle aimed at achieving economic and political freedom for the people of both the provinces of the country. Addressing a public meeting at local Idgah Maidan last evening, Sheikh Sahib denied that they were struggling for capturing power.
He explained his party’s six-point programme to the audience and called upon them to make themselves ready to undergo “any sort of troubles” for the hundred million people of the country.
The Provincial Awami League chief complained against “insufficient defence arrangements” for East Pakistan. He advocated for East Pakistani youngmen chances to utilise their merits in the defence services of the nation.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman said he would not be satisfied unless “due shares” were ensured for East Pakistan in the economic field also.
Mr Mizanur Rahman, MNA, Shah Moazzam Husain, and Mr Obaidur Rahman also addressed the meeting to explain their sixpoint programme in the light of the situation as obtaining in the country. -PPA.
