JAMAAT LEADER CRITICISES MUJIB’S PLAN
TOBA TEK SINGH, April 9: The Acting Amir of the Jamaat-iIslam, Pakistan, Mian Tufail Mohammad, declared here that the two provinces of Pakistan cannot exist separately as envisaged in the six-point programme of Shaikh Mujibur Rahman.
He was addressing a meeting of the district Lyallpur Jamaat-iIslami at the residence of Mufti Abdul Hamid Ludehianvi under the presidentship of Syed Asad Gilani, Amir of the Sargodha disvision Jamaat.
Mian Tufail opposed the view that the two provinces be made autonomous to the extent of tax collection. He wondered how the Central Government could exist if its was deprived of the income from taxes.
He said the only way to satisfy the people of East Pakistan was to meet their genuine demands, including the making up for the past injustice and restoration of full democracy in the country. -PPA
