Mujib still firm on 6-point
plan: Press report contradicted
DINAJPUR, April 11: Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, President, East Pakistan Awami League, has contradicted a Press report that he was ready to barter his six-point programme for shifting of the Capital to East Wing.
In a statement here yesterday Sheikh Mujib termed the Press report as misleading and said it aimed at creating confusion about his six-point programme.
Explaining what he had said at Pabna the Awami League leader said if the Capital of Pakistan and the headquarters of the three Services had been in East Pakistan “The people of West Pakistan would have come out with a similar six-point programme”.
Sheikh Mujib reiterated his firm stand on the six-point and said it was a “question of life and death” and that “there could be no compromise on it.”—PPA.
