Mujib elected E. Wing AL chief
DACCA, March 19: Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was tonight elected President of the East Pakistan Awami League at the meeting of its Provincial Council.
Mr. Tajuddin Ahmad was elected General Secretary of the party and Mr. Mizanur Rahman Chowdhry, MNA, Organising Secretary.
Sheikh Mujib, who had been the General Secretary, for over 10 years, succeeds Maulana Abdur Rashid Tarkabagish. The new President will nominate the provincial 26-member Working Committee later. – APP.
