Sk. Mujib Elected AL President
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was last night elected President of the East Pakistan Awami League at the meeting of its Provincial Council. reports APP.
Mr. Tajuddin Ahmed was elected General Secretary of the party and Mr. Mizanur Rahman Choudhury, MNA, Organising Secretary.
Sheikh Mujib, who had been the General-Secretary for over ten years, succeeds Maulana Abdul Rashid Tarkabagish. The new President will nominate the provincial 26-member Working Committee later.
