22 Lawyers Support Mujib’s Six-Point

Twenty-two lawyers of the Dacca district bar yesterday lent their “whole-hearted” support to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s six-point programme.
In a joint statement the signatories felt that the six-Point demand “rests on the very basis of Pakistan” and was “essential for the maintenance of integrity and solidarity of the country”.
The statement said the hopes and aspiration of the five crore people of East Pakistan found expression through these demands. The lawyers described the six-point as a life and death question for the people of East Pakistan and urged upon the people of this province to launch a mass movement for the realisation of the demands.
The signatories regretted that “some political leaders of Pakistan have been ridiculing these renuine demands”.
In a senarate statement yesterday. Mr. Mohammad Abu Soliaman mondal. Chairman of the Central Medical Students Union said in Dacca yesterday that a federal form of Government was essential in the removal of the present “bitter {“ relations existing between the two wings of Pakistan.
