Mujib’s Programme Will Disintegrate Pakistan, Muaudoodi
Chittagong, Feb 18 (APP): Maulana Abul Ala Maudodi the chief of Jamaat-e-Islami said here today that the sex-point programme of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the General Secretary of East Pakistan Awami League Would disintegrate and weaken Pakistan.
He was addressing a public meeting at Laldighi Maidan this evening.
Maulana Maudoodi said that the scheme of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman would make East Pakistan vulnerable to outside attack.
He added that the six-point programme would hurl cruel blow at the unity and solidarity among the people of two wings of Pakistan.
Maulana Maudoodi said that Mr. Mujib’s six-point programme envesaging wider powers to the regional federating units stated to be the only constitutional frame work for nation’s solid arity integrity and prosperity would in fact have the reverse effect on national life. He added that the tie that binds the two wings becomes almost non existant under the six-point programme could never be helpful to build a strong Pakistan. He said that the programme.
Maulana Maudoodi said that it was not yet time to present this sort of programme before the people.
The Jamaat chief said that at present there could be only one point programme for all political part and that was restoration of democracy. He added that first and foremost duty of all political part was to work for restoration of democracy. He observed that different political parties could place before the people their individual programmes only after democracy had been restored.
Maulana Maudoodi said that he had always advocated for the cause of East Pakistan and he had always supported full provincial autonomy for East Pakistan.
